Hi! I'm Jelsi.
No, it's not short for anything, and yes, that's my actual name! It's like Kelsey, but with a 'J'.
Born and partially raised in Tennessee and a full and through Pisces. I am a Wife, dog mom, and new human mama.
Picking up my first camera in high school I would shoot whatever I could! Proms and homecomings, sports, pets (still bring your pets with you!) and eventually found my calling with couples and weddings. I am a self taught documentary style photographer who LOVES capturing the love between two humans.
In my free time away from being behind the camera, I am either working a "regular job" as a Veterinary Technician at an Urgent Care, plant shopping and adding to my jungle, or being herded by my blind border collie pup, Theia.
Knowing firsthand how special this moment is, and how nervous you may feel, my mission is to make you comfortable and be true to yourself. All my focus is on you. I totally understand feeling awkward in front of the camera and to be honest, I should probably get in front of the lens more often.
You can find me next to you on the dance floor during your reception even after forewarning me that your family is a little
"crazy and wild" - music to my ears.
I am constantly learning and adapting to this ever changing industry to provide an amazing experience every time.
what is documentary style photography?
Capturing the memories, the moment, exactly as it is.
My job is to step back, observe, and document your day as intentionally and authentically as possible.
I am there to document your day as it unfolds and occurs naturally. No stiff posing, but rather guiding and providing prompts during portraits.
I am blending in and capturing that two second hug after the ceremony with your grandparents, or the rare smiles from your spouse during your engagement session.
Real raw emotions and memories that will last you forever, captured so delicately.

The Beach
The beach is a favorite spot of mine. Regardless if its bay side or somewhere tropical- I will happily find a spot in the sand to enjoy the view.
My Puppy- Theia
My (forever) puppy Theia. She is a blind border collie who has the BIGGEST heart. A true love-bug.
She was born blind with a condition called microphthalmia which means her eyes never fully developed and are tiny, causing total blindness. Her being blind doesn't effect her in any way though. She is a fierce little girl and will try her best to herd people (not so much animals, I've tried).
Bob's Burgers
My guilty pleasure and comfort show. I have shamelessly seen every episode at LEAST 4 times. This show will most likely be playing in the background while I edit and until I fall asleep. My favorite character is Louise. Definitely recommend watching it if you haven't seen it before!
